Lares valley offers one of the best hiking routs as an alternative to the Inca trail that passes through remote zones crossing the picturesque valley and passing by villages where the indigenous Andean culture still maintains their traditional way of living. Hiking through the Lares valley is like entering a different world, one where the native population live in harmony with mother earth and offer you the same opportunity in the time you spend there. The routes and camping sites have been groomed in such a way as to facilitate access and safety while additionally offering much to enjoy in the way of a unique environment.

Day 1: Cusco (3,350 m / 10,990 feet) - Lares (3,227 m/ 10,587 feet) - Nanrayuc Pampa (4,100 m / 13,530 feet)

• Departure from Cusco at 8 a.m. in private bus. Pick up from your hotel
• We visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas on the way and on to Lares' thermal medicinal baths
• Starting point for the trek. After approximately 2 hours of hiking we reach the community of Huacahuasi where we will have lunch
• We will arrive to the Nanrayuc Pampa camp site In the afternoon

Day 2: Nanrayuc Pampa (4,100 m / 13,530 feet) - Kahuac Pampa (4,000 m / 13,200 feet)

• We start on our trek after breakfast
• On the way we will observe the beautiful surrounding snow-capped mountains:     Pachacuteq, Pitusiray and Qolque Cruz.
• We will have lunch in Pampacocha enjoying the panoramic view of the lake with the same name
• Overnight at Kahuac Pampa
• Length of trek: 5 - 6 hours

Day 3: Kahuac Pampa (4,000 m / 13,200 feet) - Patacancha (3,800 m / 12,540 feet) - Ollantaytambo (2,792 m / 88,176 feet)

• After  breakfast we get ready to start the last day of our trek.
• On arrival at Pak'layuc K'asa we will have an impressive view of the sacred snow-capped Veronica and will also be able to observe the local flora and fauna.
• We will have lunch in the community of Patacancha and then take a local bus to Ollantaytambo.  Overnight at the Ollantaytambo camp-site.
• Length of trek: 4 - 5 hours

Day 4: Ollantaytambo - Cusco

• Transfer Ollantaytambo - Cusco
• Optional Machupicchu
• B/Box Lunch
